Would you applaud this post? e. e. cummings is considered a genius as well is he not? What you seem to be missing is this forum is not a novel, poem or and other such work of literary art. These forums, with the exception of eve library, are not for art. They are for discussion and debate. That is their purpose. In conversation that is meant to communicate an idea it is important to be succinct. Using obscure, oversized words, writing at such length that the reader becomes bored or writing over the heads of your readersà IS A FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE. It is an ôepic failö if youÆll forgive my use of ôinternets speak.ö
I am much smarter than my older brother. HeÆs dumb as a post. When I was in elementary school I used to use words he didnÆt know and he would get frustrated and ask, ôWhy canÆt you talk like a normal person?ö To which I would say, ôItÆs not my fault youÆre stupid.ö This went on for a few years until one day my mother asked me a question, ôIf youÆre so smart why are you the one unable to make yourself understood? The only reason to use those big words when talking to your bother is to make yourself feel good at his expense.ö After that I stopped talking in ways that I knew people wouldnÆt understand.
So I ask Jadeà If youÆre so smart why is it you are the one having so much trouble being understood?
